I'm now W7LTE!

28 April 2021

After the longest wait ever (18 days.. right on schedule) the FCC finally granted my new callsign. There really was a lot involved in the switch. For DMR, first I had to update my callsign at radioid.net, then create a new brandmeister account. Then wait for that to be approved, then reprogram my radio and hotspot. I'm still waiting for the new callsign to propagate. It can take a few days apparently. I can still transmit, I just show up with the wrong callsign.

It took a little while to get the paint off the back of the truck (carb cleaner was the trick). But I eventually got it off and stenciled the new one on. I think it came out great!

I'm still figuring out my new web presence. I registered w7lte.com and moved this site to it. I think I'll use tim@w7lte.com as my radio related email address.

I'm just sort of rambling at this point so I'll finish up and go away. The important part of this post is that I'm now W7LTE!

73 and be safe, w7lte
